Department of Biological and Physical Sciences

This major is designed for those interested in applied problem-solving and those who plan to pursue engineering or other technical fields. The curriculum creates a strong foundation in mathematical skills and cultivates the ability to apply those skills to scientific and engineering challenges. This major will help prepare for our engineering 3-2 programs with Notre Dame and Washington University in Saint Louis, have a strong start for a Master's in Engineering (including the 4-1 CAMP program with WPI), or be ready to enter the job market in various technical fields.

Advising Tips

Students interested in this major should take CHE 131, MAT 117 or MAT 131H, and PHY 201H in their first semester and consult with Professor Jessica McCready, Director of the Engineering program.

Differential Equations (MAT 355) is recommended to be taken as the General Elective for this major.
