Major in Accounting (16 Courses)

The Accounting program is designed to establish the professional competence in accounting that will encourage intelligent and effective employment in corporate, governmental and non-profit institutions. The undergraduate Accounting program leading to the Bachelor’s degree is structured to provide educational preparation for professional examinations in accounting as well as entrance into law school and graduate business school.

Students interested in becoming Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) should be aware that CPA examination and licensure requirements vary by state and are subject to change. Educational requirements, credit-hour requirements, and experience requirements differ across jurisdictions. Students planning to pursue CPA licensure are strongly encouraged to consult with accounting faculty no later than the fall of their junior year to discuss the current requirements in the state where they intend to seek licensure and to develop an appropriate academic plan. Assumption University offers an Accelerated CPA Track M.B.A. program that enables qualified students to begin graduate study during their senior year and complete both the Bachelor’s degree and M.B.A. degree in an accelerated timeframe.
