Minor

Minor in Human Service (6 Courses)

Students interested in supplementing another major by developing knowledge and skills in the areas of human services may wish to pursue a minor. The minor consists of six courses, four of which are required. The four required courses are designed to provide students with a firm understanding of the range and diversity of human service settings. The minor is also geared toward providing students with some core skills required of a human service professional. The minor also provides students with the opportunity to apply these fundamental skills by completing a 100-hour field placement experience. In addition to the four required courses, students are encouraged to choose two other HUS courses that suit their individual interests and career objectives. The minor program of study should be developed with a faculty member from the Department of Health and Human Services.
