First-Time, First Year Student Application Requirements
A first time, first year student seeking admission to Assumption University must submit the following:
- A First-year Common Application. Students can access application forms at www.commonapp.org
- An official high school transcript. This may be submitted through a variety of electronic portals or mailed to the Office of Admissions, Assumption University, 500 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA, 01609.
- One letter of recommendation. Additional recommendations are not required but are welcomed by the Admissions Committee. This may be submitted through a variety of electronic portals or mailed to the Office of Admissions, Assumption University, 500 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA, 01609.
- Submission of standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) is optional for students applying for admission. Applicants who choose not to submit SAT or ACT test scores will not be penalized in the review for admission. For students who would like to submit their test scores as part of their application, the SAT code number for Assumption University is 3009. The ACT code number for Assumption University is 1782. •
- All applications for admission, as well as all supporting credentials should be filed in the Office of Admissions.
Transfer Student Application Requirements
A student wishing to transfer from an accredited University or Community College to Assumption University must submit the following:
- A transfer Common Application. Students can access application forms at www.commonapp.org.
- An official transcript of courses taken at all previous collegiate institutions attended, to be sent directly to the Office of Admissions. Official transcripts are typically ordered from granting institutions’ registrar’s webpage. Please note that only courses for which the student has earned a grade of C or higher will be considered for transfer.
- Students who have earned fewer than 15 college credits should submit their final, official high school transcript as well.
- A letter of recommendation from a current professor, college administrator, or employer.
- A College Official’s Report, completed by the Dean of Students or someone in a similar position at previous institution.
- Please note that at least half (60) of the 120 credits required for completion of the bachelor’s must be earned through Assumption or through the Higher Education Consortium of Central Massachusetts (HECCMA) as an Assumption University student.
International Student Application Requirements
Assumption University is pleased to receive applications from qualified international students. A candidate for First Year or Transfer admission should submit the following to Admissions:
- The Common Application. Students can access application forms at www.commonapp.org.
- Official educational records, both secondary and post-secondary transcripts, including subjects studied by year, grades, and examination marks, must be submitted directly from the appropriate institutions. Applicants may also submit copies of diplomas, titles, degrees and certificates;
- English Proficiency Test: All students, regardless of citizenship, must demonstrate English language proficiency when applying to Assumption. If English is not your first language, you will need to submit official results from one of the following: TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo or Pearson.
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor.
- Proof of Finances may also be required.
- Additional documentation may be required after acceptance. Any educational or financial documents not in English must be accompanied by certified English translations.
